Despite making its fourth BCS bowl appearance in the last five years, the Virginia Tech Hokies find themselves as a slight underdog versus the Michigan Wolverines in the 2012 Sugar Bowl.

Oddsmakers have installed Michigan as a 3-point favorite over Virginia Tech, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 51.5 for today’s game. The Wolverines wrapped up the regular season with a 10-2 overall record while the Hokies finished 2011 at 11-2.

Virginia Tech has won 18 of the last 21 games coming off an UNDER the total and they have also won 11 of the last 12 games after failing to cover the spread in two of the last three games. Virginia Tech has won 14 consecutive games coming off a game where they forced one or less turnovers and they are only allowing an average of 17 points a game on defense this season.
