A 43-yr-old mother of three dies needing a simple but urgent operation while the ER staff of MLK Hospital of Los Angeles does nothing for her for the third day in a row. Correction, the janitor did sweep up around her while she was on the floor vomiting blood after falling out of her wheelchair. Two separate phone calls from two different callers to 911 did not dispatch anyone to help her. The police, whom the husband begged to rescue her, were in the process of arresting her on a parole violation when she died (outside the ER entrance) in the wheel chair that they were using to take her to the squad car. Failure on sooo many fronts here.
Gall bladder removal (the most common and routine surgery in any US hospital) would have saved her life. Even a candystriper could have figured out she needed immediate and urgent lifesaving care. Un-fucking-believable!
