Today is actually the day he is supposed to have died..not his birthday. It is celebrated as his “feast day”. Also, St. Patrick was not born in Ireland. He was taken there as a boy as a spoil of war and made to be a slave. He is credited with using the shamrock(a THREE leaved heart shaped clover) to teach the Holy Trinity.
