Cinco De Mayo is not Mexican Independance Day(Sept 16th). The 5th of May is celebrated primarily in Pueblo, Mexico. It commemorates the unlikely defeat over French troops in the Battle of Pueblo. In the USA and other countries the date is frequently celebrated as a tribute to Mexican Heritage not to mention a wonderful excuse to drink cervezas and eat Mexican-style food.
